Basement Dehumidifier Energy Consumption

1) How much "surge" does the unit pull when it first comes on? In essence, does the dehumidifier need it's own designated outlet, or can it share one w/ a sump pump (of course, the opposite question could be poised regarding can the outlet for the sump pump be shared w/ the dehumidifier..)?
2) I have done my own quick math w/ the information provided on the website, but could you please tell me in your professional opinion if this device is what I need, or something different? The target area is an unfinished pit basement, 1500 sq ft w/ 9ft ceilings (so 13.5k cu ft) in Lexington, KY. Avg temp is ~62'F (low as 50 in winter, 70 in summer) down there. Usually has humidity level 70-80%, but w/ our recent deluge of rain got as high as 90% (I exercise down there...a 5 mile run at that humidity SSUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKSSSS!). I plan on draining the reservoir directly into our sump pump pit.

I certainly appreciate your time and efforts.

Hello again kcharned,

As regards your first question, the maximum amp surge from the basement dehumidifier is 6.58 amps.

For the second question, I would suggest at least 1.5 air exchanges per hour, which would be 337.5 cfm.

Thanks,

Rod
